My shower tray has water pooling - how do I stop it?

Pooling water usually means the tray isn’t level or the waste is partially blocked. If you are experiencing pooling of water after a shower, gurgling sounds from the waste or foul odours, start by checking that the tray is level using a spirit level - even a small tilit affects drainage. If the tray is level, complete the following steps to clean the shower waste:

  1. Remove the waste cover and check/clean seal
  2. Take out the small cup (if applicable)
  3. Clean debris and hair that can build up inside the waste area
  4. Replace cup and washers

Tip: Avoid pouring boiling water directly onto the tray surface; it can damage the finish.
