My shower tray is cracked - can it be repaired or must it be replaced?
Minor surface marks on a shower tray can be repaired, but cracks or holes require tray replacement to maintain watertight integrity. If you are experiencing visible cracks or soft spots, leaks through tray surface, or flexing that worsens over time, the first thing to do is to clean and dry the area to assess the depth of the crack.
- Hairline cracks can be repaired by a specialist repair company
- For deep cracks or leaks, remove and replace the tray entirely.
Inspect the supporting base if possible to prevent repeat damage.
Tip: Never use general resin repair kits unless specified for your tray material (e.g. stone resin or acrylic).
