Summary of duties
The Trade Marketing Manager will be responsible for the development and execution of targeted marketing strategies and initiatives to drive brand awareness, sales growth, and market share within the trade channel. This role will work closely with sales leadership to understand customer needs, develop impactful marketing toolkits, and ensure alignment between marketing activities and sales objectives.
This role will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between sales and marketing by creating effective trade marketing plans, promotional activities, and merchandising strategies that support key trade partners. The role holder will emerge as the key go-to in understanding and influencing the channel.
Key areas of responsibility
- Collaborate with the sales leadership team to gather insights on customer needs and identify opportunities to develop impactful marketing toolkits that drive sales engagement.
- Understanding the anatomy of the channel and subchannels, routes to market and key customers within.
- Consistent knowledge of key competitors in the channel.
- Understanding and mapping key marketing levers to drive the channel/customers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key trade partners to foster brand loyalty and optimise brand positioning.
- Develop and implement trade marketing strategies to support brand development, product launches, seasonal promotions and ongoing sales initiatives within the channel and sub-channels.
- Design and execute in-store merchandising and POS materials to enhance brand visibility and product appeal within trade partners (online & in-store)
- Partner with sales to create targeted promotional plans and toolkits that align with business objectives and customer requirements. Specifically define the assortment and offer for our national sale campaigns.
- Define and deploy the right events and trade shows for us to invest in. Manage the whole process of attending and showing.
- Define, develop and deploy all presentational material/toolkits required to drive our messages in trade (direct or via sales teams)
- Work closely with Brand & Creative services to build the toolkits to drive the channel
- Manage budgets and track ROI for promotional activities, ensuring cost-effective execution.
- Manage market data reporting with Commercial Manager to share frequent updates, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Analyse market and competitor data to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decision-making.
- Work closely with product development to align GTM/Trade marketing plans with product roadmaps and market trends.
- Coordinate with the brand, creative & digital marketing team to drive online-to-offline conversion and integrate trade marketing efforts into broader marketing campaigns.
- Lead and drive all customer communications to be in keeping with the brand and business tone.
- Lead, manage and mentor a small team whilst operating in the wider Marketing and Commercial matrix team.

Key skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or related field.
- 3-5 years of trade marketing experience, preferably within the bathroom or home improvement sector.
- Proven track record of developing and executing trade marketing strategies that drive sales growth.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
- Experience in collaborating with sales teams to develop targeted marketing initiatives and toolkits.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in digital marketing, CRM systems, and data analysis tools.
- Creative and proactive underpinned by an entrepreneurial spirit, commercial awareness, product knowledge and interest.
- Able to lead a small team and manage with and through people. This role is a player manager role.
- Creative mindset with a strong understanding of consumer behaviour and retail dynamics.
